Making A Case for 100% Tobacco-Free Schools in North Carolina: A Forum for School and Community Leaders

December 3, 2004
Goldsboro, NC

You are invited to join leaders from across North Carolina to learn how your school district can successfully adopt and enforce a 100% tobacco free school policy – one that prohibits all tobacco use, by everyone, at all times on school property. This 2-hour program is designed for public health leaders, superintendents, school board members and others interested in preventing youth tobacco use and a creating safer and healthier school environment. Breakfast and networking time will be followed by an in-depth panel discussion featuring leaders from some of NC’s 100% tobacco free school districts. Participants will learn how this important health policy can decrease student health risk behavior, support academic success, and change the culture of the school district to promote healthy students, staff and environments.

This forum is a part of the 2-day Making a case for 100% Tobacco-Free Schools workshop for school administrators, local health department staff, public health professionals, school nurses, advocates, and others interested in creating a healthier learning environment for NC students.
